A paid social freelancer for Meta ads that convert.

I'm a Bristol-based freelancer running Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn ads for local businesses and e-commerce brands. I judge it on leads and sales. Likes don't pay the bills.

  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram)
  • LinkedIn for B2B
  • Research-led creative and testing

Creative is your targeting now.

Meta's delivery system decides who sees your ads mostly from the ads themselves. Detailed audience settings matter far less than they used to. The creative does the targeting.

So I plan creative as carefully as the bids. That starts with knowing your audience: their pain points, the words they use and what makes them stop scrolling. From there come distinct concepts for different buyers, clear hooks in the first second, and a testing rhythm that shows which angle is paying for itself.

On LinkedIn it's the opposite. Precise job-title and company targeting is the point, and the job is making expensive clicks count.

How I run Meta ads.

I run Meta as a cycle of research and testing. Each round tells us what to make next.

  1. ResearchAudience research and digital listening: what your customers care about, in their own words.
  2. BriefDistinct concepts, angles and hooks, written up so anyone can produce them.
  3. CreateBy me, by you, or by your designers and content creators.
  4. LaunchStructured so every concept gets a fair test.
  5. TestEnough budget behind each idea to reach a real verdict.
  6. ReviewWhat worked and what didn't, even if it's the ad you loved.
  7. Start againWinners scale. What we learned feeds the next round of research.

From first concept to cost per lead.

Strategy and offer

Who you're reaching, what you're offering them and how paid social fits alongside search, so each channel has a clear job.

Creative briefs and copy

Ad concepts, hooks and copy written for each stage of the customer journey, ready for whoever is producing them.

Testing framework

Structured creative tests with enough budget behind them to reach a verdict, so you scale winners rather than guess.

Pixel and Conversions API

Meta Pixel, Conversions API and LinkedIn Insight Tag set up and checked, so the platforms optimise for real results.

Lead forms and follow-up

Instant forms or landing pages, connected to your inbox or CRM so new leads get a fast reply.

Reporting you can check

Platform numbers checked against your actual enquiries and sales, explained clearly every month.

Two kinds of business get the most from paid social.

Local and lead-generation businesses

Clinics, home services, hospitality and education businesses in Bristol and the South West that want to build demand in their area, alongside Google Ads.

E-commerce and DTC brands

Growing brands that need search, social and creative strategy joined up. I work to the numbers that pay the bills: new-customer CAC, MER and profit on ad spend (POAS). And I charge a flat fee rather than a percentage of your spend.

Meta ads questions

Do you make the ad creative?

It depends what suits you. I research the audience, plan the concepts and write the briefs and copy, so every ad has a clear job. The creative itself can come from me, from you, or from your designers and content creators. You don't need a big production budget to test well.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for local businesses?

They can, when the offer is clear and the creative stops the scroll. Meta is best at creating demand people weren't searching for yet, so for most local businesses it works alongside Google Search rather than instead of it.

Do you work with e-commerce brands?

Yes. For e-commerce and DTC brands I join up Meta with Google Shopping or Performance Max, plan creative testing properly and judge results on contribution margin, CAC and MER rather than platform-reported ROAS alone.

Should I use Meta lead forms or send people to my website?

It depends on your sales process. Lead forms are cheaper per lead but usually lower quality; website traffic costs more but tends to convert better. I'll often test both and judge them on qualified leads, not raw volume.

Is LinkedIn advertising worth the cost?

For B2B services with a decent customer value, it can be. LinkedIn clicks are expensive, but you can target by job title, company size and industry, which no other platform matches. I'll only recommend it if your numbers can carry it.

How do you charge for paid social?

A flat monthly fee based on your ad spend and the channels I manage, not a percentage of spend. You'll get a clear quote up front, and it's monthly rolling.
