Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
This policy explains how Digital Goose ("I", "me") collects and uses personal data when you visit digitalgoose.co.uk or get in touch. I'm the data controller for that information. You can contact me about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What I collect
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, company and message. The form also records how you found the site (for example "google / organic" or "google / cpc", plus any campaign name and Google Ads click ID) so I know which marketing works.
- Bookings. If you book a call, the name, email and any notes you enter in the booking calendar, which is provided by Cal.com and adds the call to my Google Calendar with a Google Meet link.
- Analytics and advertising. Only if you accept cookies: pages visited, how you arrived at the site (including from my Google Ads), approximate location and device type, and whether you sent an enquiry or booked a call. This is collected by Google Analytics and Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager.
- Server logs. My hosting provider and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
How I use it, and the lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss working together. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To understand which pages and campaigns bring in enquiries, so I can improve the site and my advertising. The lawful basis is your consent for cookies and enhanced conversions, which you can withdraw at any time, and my legitimate interest in knowing how enquiries found me.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
I don't sell your data, and I won't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Cookies
When you first visit, you choose whether to allow cookies: accept all, reject all, or pick analytics and advertising separately. Nothing is switched on in advance. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
- Analytics (Google Analytics, cookies named
_gaand_ga_*, up to two years): which pages are visited and how people found the site. - Advertising (Google Ads, cookies such as
_gcl_auand_gcl_aw, up to 90 days): whether my ads lead to enquiries and bookings.
Google Tag Manager loads on every page using Google's Consent Mode. If you reject cookies, Google tags don't set or read cookies. They may still send basic, cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed), which Google uses to estimate results without identifying you. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage.
Enhanced conversions. If you allow advertising cookies and send the enquiry form, your email address and phone number are passed to Google Ads in a hashed (scrambled) form, so I can see whether an ad led to your enquiry. Google doesn't use them to contact you.
The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and loads from their servers when you use it. Cal.com may set cookies needed for the booking to work.
Who I share it with
I use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and my business:
- Hostinger (website hosting)
- Cloudflare (security and performance)
- Google (Workspace email, Calendar and Meet, and Analytics, Ads and Tag Manager if you consent)
- Cal.com (booking calendar)
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for up to two years after our last contact, unless we go on to work together, in which case I keep business records for as long as the law requires. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how I use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
